AFC Rugby are delighted to officially announce Pablo Uribe as the club’s Sporting Director.

Pablo joined the club earlier this year and has already begun working behind the scenes as we prepare for one of the most important periods in our development.

His appointment is about much more than the present.

Pablo will play a leading role in developing the competitive side of AFC Rugby and helping build the football structure required for the club’s next phase of growth.

A major focus of his work will be our plans to enter Saturday football from the 2027/28 season, alongside the development of a clear youth pathway capable of progressing players towards senior football.

He will also contribute to the wider sporting strategy around recruitment, football operations, player development and the infrastructure required for AFC Rugby to compete and grow sustainably.

That includes supporting our work towards securing a long term home for the club and creating an environment capable of supporting the ambitions we have for the years ahead.

Pablo brings considerable experience from across professional football and the wider sports industry.

His previous roles include Head of Player Care at Nottingham Forest, First Team Player Support Officer at Manchester City, and Assistant Sporting Director at NEOM SC in Saudi Arabia, where his responsibilities included recruitment, budgeting and football operations.

He currently works in sports technology and business development with STATSports, working with clubs, leagues and federations across South and Central America.

Welcome to AFC Rugby, Pablo.
